Paranoia of a majority

The cultural Jewish-Israeli DNA is stuck deep in the paranoia and in the fear of a Jewish-minority living in a Muslim or Christian majority, as it was in the last two thousand years until the establishment of the State of Israel.

The current government in Israel is the most extreme right-wing government that has ever existed in Israel, and it took this paranoia to new heights. This government has established ridiculous and useless offices, such as (this is real, no joke):

Ministry of Settlement and National Missions

Ministry of National Resilience

Ministry of Diaspora and the fight against antisemitism

Ministry of Heritage

Ministry of Israel Tradition

Contrary to the fear rooted in the Israeli-Jewish culture, the reality is the Jewish majority is guaranteed in the State of Israel for decades to come.

In a fascinating table published by the Israeli Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS), you can see the clear trends for the next decades. In this analysis by the CBS, the population in Israel is divided into 3 groups:

1. Jews without Jewish-Ultra-Orthodox

2. Jewish-Ultra-Orthodox

3. Arabs

There are several reasons for the separation of the Jewish-Ultra-Orthodox from the general Jewish population, among them: most of them do not serve in the army, they have non-state education systems and many of them do not define themselves as "Zionists". It is difficult to estimate how the Jewish Ultra-orthodox society in Israel will look in the next decades and what its role will be in taking responsibility in general Israeli society.

I allowed myself to make things easier for the observer and compiled the data into three graphs:

1. Pie - population in Israel in 2019

2. Pie - Forecast of the population in Israel in 2044

3. Graph - Forecast of the trends of changes in the population in Israel in the years 2019-2059

I identify the 2 main trends are:

1. The total Jewish population maintains its majority (78%)

2. The ultra-orthodox population grew greatly "at the expense" of the Arab population.

The extreme right in Israel, which today is the majority of the government, will not change its opinion in view of these data or any other data, because this is the essence of extremists; be annoying and harmful. But we, the absolute majority in Israel, need to study the data, get to know the reality and stop acting out of fear.
