In Julis, a Druze village in the Galilee, Naji Abbas built this unique and wonderful place, in memory of his parents, and the Gardens' name commemorates his mother, Moona. Naji's father, Rashid Abbas, was one of the first Druze soldiers who served, even before the establishment of the state, in the Palmach, and later in the IDF. The roots of the Gardens are in the orchard planted by his grandfather, Abu Rashid.
El-moona Gardens are the wonderful creation of Naji, who built the place himself for nearly 30 years, and continues to cultivate, develop and enrich the gardens with inspiring daily work. In the gardens there are hundreds of different types of plants, artificial streams, works of art and antiquities. The gardens extend over several levels, and each level is characterized by a special design and a different atmosphere.
At the end of the tour you can enjoy traditional Druze pastries near the taboon (oven) with labna and other delicacies.
From comments from visitors to the gardens:
"An amazing place, full of plants from all over the world, designed like a setting in a romantic movie. Waterfalls and streams, a room of ancient crafts and everything made by the hands of Naji, one man and his sons (and his wife, to whom he pays the respect of kings). To sit and listen to Naji tell about His vision, a man of peace, manually waters this vast garden. Landscape and pictures straight to the frame..."
"I would like to tell you about a real gem located in the north called Elmoona Gardens in Julis. The place is run by a charming guy named Naji who gives a fascinating tour of the place. The garden is named after his mother and is a very well-kept garden as you can see in the photos. If you are in the area, don't miss it! !!!"
"Very fun for those who like photography, amazing photos come out there. I really enjoyed the visit there"
